LatinoLEAD believes that highly effective leaders come from all backgrounds, walks of life and career paths. We all have innate qualities to be leaders and help our community thrive. To qualify for ALP, all that we ask is that you have a desire to invest in your personal development so that collectively we can be more effective in uplifting our community as a whole.

ALP '25 Application
Recruitment for the 2025 Cohort has begun! Those selected to participate work with a personal coach as well as group professional development framework. The cohort will meet one Friday each month for day-long sessions and activities from January through June 2025.

What is the ALP '25 Program?
The ALP '25 program is a transformative leadership development opportunity designed specifically for Latine professionals. Participants will benefit from a mix of personal leadership coaching, group professional development, and a Latine-centered curriculum over a six-month period.
Who should apply?
The ALP '25 program is ideal for Latine professionals, regardless of immigration status, who are looking to advance their leadership skills, gain personalized coaching, and build a strong network within a supportive community. We encourage you to apply or share this opportunity with colleagues, friends, and family who might be interested. We encourage participants over the age of 21 to apply. Spanish proficiency is not required.
When does the ALP '25 program start and end?
The program begins with an orientation on November 15, 2024, and officially begins on January 10, 2025 to June 13, 2025, with a graduation ceremony on June 14, 2025. Program dates may change, in which case participants will be notified.
What is the time commitment?
Fellows participate in full-day workshops on Fridays (once a month), from about 9:00 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m. Typically, few short articles, readings or assignments may be assigned in advance of each session as preparatory readings. Please prepare your availability for the entire allotted session time. While we realize things come up and conflicts can arise unexpectedly, you should plan to participate in all program activities if you are accepted as a Fellow.
Where are sessions held?
In person sessions are held in the Twin Cities. Most of our sessions will be held at North House (718 N Washington Ave STE 401, Minneapolis, MN 55401) in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Participants will be required to provide their own transportation and parking. Some sessions will be held virtually or hybrid. The orientation, last session and graduation require in person attendance.

What kinds of professions are represented in the program?
The ALP welcomes all sectors and professions. That includes private/business, non profit, and public sector/government and aims to have a balance of different professions.
How many applicants are accepted?
Through a rigorous and competitive process, approximately 18 applicants are accepted each year. Our selection committee (made up of program alumni and community members) seeks to admit a cohort representing the business, nonprofit, and government/public sectors.
How is the ALP '25 program funded?
To ensure accessibility, the ALP '25 program is free for participants. However, we highly encourage you to speak with your employer about what level of support they can provide to support your participation within ALP. The program fee is $5,000 per participant. The program covers an intensive set of skills, collaboration, mental health support, individual career and leadership coach, and culturally specific development. - Mutual Benefits: Investing in our fellows is an investment in the future of our community and organizations. The skills and insights gained through this program will directly benefit participants and their employers, leading to enhanced organizational performance and innovation. - Employer Contributions: We strongly encourage employers to support their employees' participation in this transformative program. Many organizations recognize the value and cover all or a portion of the fee from professional development funds or other resources. - Scholarships and Accessibility: Your generous contributions make it possible for us to offer scholarships, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder deserving individuals from participating. Scholarships are partially funded by the LatinoLEAD network and our esteemed partners. LatinoLEAD will support those who live in Greater MN, including covering a hotel room the night before each session. Again, we want to work closely with you and consider contributing to support this initiative and provide opportunities for professional and leadership development without financial barriers. Is this a certificate or for-credit program?
Participation in the program does not result in a certificate, a degree, or in course credit hours toward a degree.
Do I need to know English or Spanish?
Facilitators, sessions and the corresponding materials, are primarily in English. Fellows are required to have an intermediate level in order to participate in class discussions and written assignments.
