Cardina Esparza earned her Masters degree in Education with a background in Youth Development & Community Leadership from the University of Minnesota. My own educational experiences in both public and private school systems were the early arenas that lead me to be a critically conscious thinker and leader at the intersection of social issues, youth participation, and community capacity. Early in my career I worked with Latino youth and other youth from communities of color in mentoring and after school programs as well as pre-college programs.
I currently serve as volunteer advisor for the El Fondo De Nuestra Communidad grantmaking program of the St. Paul Foundation. I also have been mentoring Latina high school girls through the Latina Youth Leadership Academy.
