Consider me an ally. Since 2013, when Luz Maria Frias invited me to help support develop this initiative, I have been an active member of LatinoLEAD. Much of the time I am behind the scenes. But at our post meeting receptions, I'm usually one of the last to leave!
My work within the community takes the form of partnership. For example, in my role at the Minneapolis Foundation, I work with key Latino led programs that do important work such as increase Latino voter turnout, organize community efforts around DACA and DAPA, support Lake Street businesses, and advance the rights of low wage workers.
I am especially interested in helping to equip and ignite Latinos who want to serve in positions of influence in Minnesota. I have been privileged to help develop thousands of leaders through my eight years of work with a leadership development organization called The White House Project, and my current work at the Minneapolis Foundation. I am happy to share insights, strategies, tools and resources with my LatinoLEAD colleagues.
I am proud to be associated with this group of leaders. I believe our world works best with all hands on deck. LatinoLEAD, with its broad membership and diverse points of view, will play an important role in making Minnesota work better for all.
