While I work with many immigrant communities, my biggest work with the Latinx community has been through Border CrosSing, a new choral organization in the Twin Cities with a mission integrate to historically-segregated audiences and musicians through the performance of choral music. My role on the Board has been mainly in educational support, community outreach and marketing.
I am a K-12 Certified Teacher in the state of MN. I have significant experience working as a choir director, and theatrical director. I am interested in continuing to help as a teacher, especially with immigrants communities. I enjoy working with teenagers and love direct one to one work within the community.
When we moved to Texas from Colombia, I was surrounded by many Latinx mentors and teachers. I had a rich musical and cultural community and since moving to MN, I've lost my network of friends and teachers. I am excited to reconnect with the Latinx community of LatinoLEAD - I have been interested in finding out how to connect to the MN community of Latino leaders and I think LatinoLEAD is an excellent avenue to create a new network!
